| College raises cash for Sport Relief |
The College hosted 'It’s a Knockout' and 'Coast to Coast Challenge' in aid of Sports Relief. Teams of sponsored staff and students from across the College competed in various physical and mental challenges during 'It’s a Knockout' at Leeds Road playing fields including the Nordic Walk, Know your Neighbour, Bungee Box Sounds, All Blocked In, Air Raid, Foam Pit and Lifting the Levels. The event was sponsored by The Waterfront Quarter Development Team and Allenbuild. A group of staff and students also took part in a virtual 'Coast to Coast Challenge'. Exercise bikes and rowing machines located at the Dewsbury and Huddersfield Centres covered the 167 mile journey from Withernsea to Southport throughout the day collecting buckets of cash. The week began with Martin Deans, Events Co-ordinator, completing a sponsored personal challenge of running a marathon between the main College centres. He said: "It was great to see so many people from right across the College taking part, getting active and raising so much money. We had a lot of fun but were very tired by the end of the week!"
