| A win at the World Cup ... sandwich competition |
As part of British Sandwich Week 2010, which took place from Sunday 9 to Saturday 15 May 2010, Kirklees College organised a World Cup themed ‘design a scrumptious sandwich’ competition for local schools. The junior chefs presented their sandwiches to a panel of judges on Friday 25 June 2010.

Pupils provided a full recipe with ingredients and costs, a picture, drawing or photograph of how their sandwich would be presented, and a catchy name for their creation and brought these to reality in Friday’s final. Some of the shortlisted entries include sandwiches entitled: ‘Beefa World Cup’, ‘Rooney’s Sunday Roast’, and ‘The Big Goal’. [28/06/2010]
